Michaela Brigitte Fitz

Co-Founder / Managing Director

After playing competitive volleyball and beach volleyball all around the world for more than 15 years, Michaela Fitz now uses her experience and knowledge about the art of motion to help students and trainees discover the joy and life-altering effects of Pilates and functional fitness regimes. Michaela directs programs, services, and strategies that facilitate a healthy lifestyle of Pilates and More members and coordinates the Pilates and More continuing education program. Her vision is to offer innovative and effective programs for members and inspiring courses for Pilates and More staff to discover and explore the body-mind connection, which is so important on the path of a healthy and happy life.

Michaela is a certified Pilates teacher through Body Arts and Science International (California/USA and Amsterdam/Holland) with additional courses in Austria, and currently completing the Pilates Master’s Program at the Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado. She is internationally certified as trainer for fitness, health and wellness through the BSA Academy of Munich/Germany and obtained several certifications to specialize in different fields, including Nutrition (PAX Vienna/Austria), Nordic Walking  (NWCA Berlin/Germany), and Health Club Management (ECA world fitness Dubai/U.A.E.). She holds a Masters in Mass Communication and a Masters of Laws.

Kathyrine Claire Concha

Kathyrine Claire Concha started to work as a Spa Therapist providing professional services like facial & body scrubs, body massages, slimming & whitening body treatments. As a sport enthusiast and while working in Fitness First, Kathyrine took   Fitness & Personal training courses, and since then, has been working as a Personal Trainer as well. In Pilates and More Women’s Health Club Kathyrine started to teach Pilates as well, and due to her teaching and leadership skills, was promoted to the position of a Pilates Head Coach and Assistant Manager. Hence she loves teaching and sharing her knowledge and experience as Personal Trainer and Pilates Teacher with her clients, she is still conducting group classes and personal sessions with a focus on programs for weight loss, body toning, and stretching. In addition Kathyrine is responsible for a wide variety of functions, including the class schedule as well as providing professional assistance and advice where required. She is an outstanding and natural problem solver and shows great compassion for her clients and the team.

Kathyrine graduated with a Degree in Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, and is certified Pilates Teacher (STOTT Pilates), certified Personal Trainer, Whole Body Vibration Trainer (VIBRAFIT Coach), Gymstick™ Instructor, and Flowin®  Instructor. Kathy holds diplomas for various Spa Therapies as well.

Salmiya

Sophia Rosalin Pais

With a background in behavior modification, individual/group counseling, play therapy and family counseling, Sophia Pais has dealt with various issues of personality development through classroom interaction and workshops. She has also worked in the field of alcohol and drug rehabilitation, child adoption services and was involved in management of palliative care centers for victims of HIV/AIDS. Sophia has more than 15 years of experience in mediation in families going through conflict. As a trained member of Street Theatre, she involved herself in organizing health awareness activities and workshops. Sophia has managed health care centers like Population Services International and VLCC Health care in India. She was selected as one of the cultural ambassadors from India for the Rotary Group Study Exchange Program to Canada, and has worked and submitted a paper “On Issues of Ageing in India and Kuwait” for the World Summit on Elder Mediation in Canada.

Sophia’s determined work ethic and outstanding management skills have aided the Club’s transition in Salmiya from a small 300m2 facility to a 1000m2 fully equipped health club with Pilates studio, swimming pool and spa today. Sophia strongly believes in living for the moment, just as Mahatma Gandhi said ”Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” Her hobbies include painting, sketching, yoga and trekking. She has a Masters in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work and is a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, Women’s studies and Pre School Education. 

Maria Victoria Escandor

Victoria Escandor started her career in one of the largest private hospitals in Saudi Arabia as a physiotherapist. Due to the adjacent health club for ladies she got interested in the fitness industry as well, and took courses in aerobic group classes and additional training in different types of massage. To enhance her knowledge in the field of fitness back home in the Philippines Victoria completed various fitness courses, including a Group Exercise Course in Association with the Fitness Professionals of the Philippines, a Nautilus International Personal Trainer Course, and the Exercise Science Alliance Instructor Course. Hence Victoria loves to swim and exercise in water - she was a Swimming Varsity Player in college - she moved to Kuwait to work first as a swimming coach and fitness instructor, as well as personal trainer, and massage therapist. In 2009 Victoria joined Pilates and More Women’s Health Club as Membership Advisor to support all Pilates and More members on their quest for a healthier life and to pass on her passion for health and fitness. Due to her passion for the fitness field and her organizational and social skills, Victoria was promoted to the position of the Assistant Manager soon. Victoria believes that everybody should make this big leap to a healthier lifestyle, hence only living a hale and hearty life enables us to explore what life really is about.

Victoria holds a Bachelor in Physical Therapy. Beside her certifications in Group Exercise, Nautilus Personal Training, and Exercise Science, Victoria also got certified in First Aid and Basic Life Support Training from the Philippine National Red Cross and Kuwait Red Crescent.
